Major Drug Bust in Polk County: Suspected Narcotics Distributor Arrested

May 15, 2025 | Livingston, TX — A significant narcotics operation in Polk County has been dismantled following the arrest of a Livingston man, concluding a long-term investigation by local and state law enforcement agencies.

Charlie Joe King III was taken into custody after the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Criminal Investigations Division, executed search and arrest warrants at his residence. The investigation revealed that King was allegedly manufacturing and distributing multiple illicit substances from his home.

During the search, authorities seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, pressed fentanyl pills, pressed methamphetamine pills, ten pounds of synthetic marijuana (K2), and a substantial quantity of marijuana. Evidence indicated that King was producing these drugs in his kitchen and storing them throughout the house, some within reach of his young child. Several stolen firearms were also recovered, with additional charges pending related to their possession. 

King faces multiple charges, including several counts of manufacture and delivery of controlled substances and one count of endangering a child. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office emphasized its commitment to combating the distribution of dangerous narcotics and expressed gratitude to the DPS for their assistance in the investigation. 

This arrest marks a significant step in efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of the Polk County community by targeting and removing sources of illegal drug distribution.
