LIVINGSTON, TX — April 11, 2025 — A tragic traffic accident on the US-59 bypass near Livingston claimed the life of a 39-year-old woman on Friday evening after a two-vehicle collision led to a violent rollover.
At approximately 5:20 p.m., Amy Duplechain of Livingston was driving a red 2008 Mercury Mariner southbound in the left lane of US-59 when her vehicle drifted into the right lane, clipping the rear of a silver 2019 Subaru Legacy driven by 26-year-old David Rodriguez of Fulshear. The impact caused Duplechain to lose control.
Her vehicle veered off the left side of the highway, rolled multiple times, re-entered the roadway, and came to a stop upright, facing north. During the rollover, Duplechain was ejected from the vehicle.
First responders from Allegiance Ambulance Service and the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department arrived quickly. Emergency crews initiated CPR at the scene, but Duplechain succumbed to her injuries. Justice of the Peace Jamie Richardson pronounced her dead at the scene and ordered an inquest. Her body was transported from the scene by Cochran Funeral Home.
Rodriguez, whose vehicle was initially struck, continued driving after the collision but returned to the scene minutes later. Officers from the Livingston Police Department — including Officer Scott Paske, Sergeant Ronnie Bogany, Lieutenant David Mitchell, and department detectives — responded and are leading the investigation.
Duplexchain’s vehicle was recovered by Dan’s Towing out of Livingston.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are urging any witnesses or those with additional information to contact the Livingston Police Department.
This is a developing story.
