One Dead, Two Injured in UTV Crash Involving Liberty County Constable

Liberty County, TX — May 10, 2025

A deadly crash early Saturday morning has left one woman dead and two others injured after a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) driven by a local law enforcement official veered off the road and overturned in Liberty County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 2 a.m. in the Moss Bluff area, located in southern Liberty County. Preliminary investigation indicates the UTV was traveling at an unsafe speed when it left the roadway and flipped, ejecting all three occupants.

Liberty County Precinct 1 Constable Tammy Bishop was identified as the driver of the UTV. A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Constable Bishop and a male passenger were both transported to a local hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Officials have not yet released the names of the passengers pending notification of next of kin. No information has been given regarding potential charges or contributing factors beyond speed.
