LIVINGSTON, TX – A coordinated effort by multiple shifts and divisions of the Livingston Police Department led to a major drug bust early Thursday morning, resulting in four arrests and the seizure of nearly a pound of methamphetamine.

The operation began around 1:00 a.m. when officers initiated a traffic stop on a suspect vehicle traveling along Highway 190 West. During the stop, K9 Bear alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search revealed multiple baggies of methamphetamine hidden in a concealed compartment in the backseat. The substances field-tested positive for meth.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old John Way, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (PCS). His female passenger was also taken into custody on outstanding theft-related warrants from Livingston.
Approximately one hour later, just after 2:00 a.m., LPD officers served a search warrant at Way’s residence on Castlewood Road. Officers from Patrol and the Criminal Investigations Division entered the home and detained two male occupants during the search.
Inside the residence, authorities discovered additional narcotics, including marijuana and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia and a firearm. The two men, identified as Kyle Way, 29, and William Stewart, 50, were arrested and charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (MAN/DEL).

All three men are convicted felons with extensive criminal histories and were transported to the Polk County Jail. Officials note the investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests or charges may follow.
“We got drug dealers off the streets today and kept a pound of meth from poisoning our community,” said Livingston Police Chief Matt Parrish. “This was all made possible by using a combination of modern technology and good old-fashioned police work.”
