Flooding Hits Trinity and Montgomery Counties Amidst Severe Weather

Heavy rainfall on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, has led to significant flooding across Trinity and Montgomery counties in Southeast Texas. Reports indicate that water levels have reached approximately one foot deep in several areas, including Folmer Road and Hawg Heaven along Highway 356. The 356 Volunteer Fire Department is actively managing traffic in these regions to ensure public safety.

Additional locations affected by flooding include FM 356 near Risin Sun Cowboy Church and various roads in Smith and Angelina counties, such as CR 15 and CR 129 in Whitehouse, where at least one driver was stranded. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Trinity River at Riverside, effective until Saturday evening. Minor flooding is occurring and is forecasted to continue. As of 8:30 PM CDT on Wednesday, the river stage was 134.9 feet, above the flood stage of 133.5 feet. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Saturday morning.
