Residents of Barrett’s Landing and Pine Forest Acres are experiencing ongoing water service disruptions due to a significant water line break in the river, as reported by the Trinity Rural Water Supply Corporation (TRWSC). The issue, which began on June 5, 2025, has led to a complete loss of water service in these areas.
TRWSC crews have identified the leak approximately 7 to 10 feet underwater, presenting challenges for immediate repair. Contractors are scheduled to assess the situation and develop a restoration plan. In the interim, a temporary fix is being implemented to restore water service as quickly as possible.
Due to the low pressure and service interruption, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has mandated a boil water notice for the affected neighborhoods. Residents are advised to boil water for at least two minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or hygiene purposes. Alternatively, bottled water should be used.
To assist residents during this outage, the 356 Volunteer Fire Department is providing bottled water for drinking and non-drinking water for flushing toilets. Residents are encouraged to bring their own containers for non-drinking water collection. It is important to reserve bottled water exclusively for drinking purposes.
