Cleveland Man Faces Additional Child Pornography Charge Following San Jacinto County Investigation

San Jacinto County, Texas — A Cleveland man faces an additional first-degree felony charge after an investigation by the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID).

Joseph David Yaws, already incarcerated in the San Jacinto County Jail on a felony charge of online solicitation of a minor, was served with a new arrest warrant on Monday, April 7, 2025. The new charge — possession of child pornography — follows a months-long investigation that began in October 2024.

According to authorities, the investigation uncovered explicit material depicting young children in abusive and exploitative situations. After executing a search warrant, CID detectives recovered substantial digital evidence containing numerous illegal and disturbing files. Due to the quantity and severity of the material, Yaws now faces an additional first-degree felony charge.

Sheriff Sam Houston commended the CID team’s work, stating:

“This is a deeply disturbing case, but it reflects the unwavering commitment of our CID detectives to protect children and pursue justice for victims. Predators like this have no place in our community, and we will continue to seek them out and hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

Joseph David Yaws remains in custody at the San Jacinto County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
