Subject: Arrest Made Following Incident Involving Impersonation of Law Enforcement Officer

Liberty County, Texas — On March 21, 2025, at approximately 11:43 PM, a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a suspicious white vehicle near County Road 5803. The complainant advised dispatch that the vehicle had followed him to his residence, remained near the property, and was displaying red and blue emergency lights, despite having no law enforcement markings.

Upon arrival, the deputy found that the suspicious vehicle had left the scene. However, at approximately 12:18 AM, the deputy located a white 2013 Chevrolet Malibu at the intersection of CR 3550 and 5709, matching the earlier description. The vehicle was stopped behind a 2013 Chrysler minivan.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu as Jonathan Alejandro Aguillon (DOB: 03/03/2006). Aguillon voluntarily stated that he was “trying to help the community,” explaining that he attempts to identify suspected drug dealers and report them to law enforcement.

The driver of the Chrysler minivan reported that Aguillon had activated red and blue lights to stop his vehicle. When questioned, Aguillon allegedly claimed to be an undercover officer but refused to provide a name or badge number.

During a safety frisk of Aguillon, the deputy discovered a small bottle in his front pocket containing pills later identified as Xanax and Oxycodone. Aguillon was read his Miranda rights and taken into custody.

He has been charged with the following:

Please Note: This information is based on the deputy’s official report. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
