“What’s with all the smoke?”

Firefighter training today in Polk County , has a few people concerned after recent wildfires in the area. There’s no danger to the public. Firefighter training is conducted routinely.

Polk County, Texas, offers several firefighter training opportunities to equip both aspiring and current firefighters with essential skills.

Each February, the Livingston Fire Department hosts the Livingston Area Fire School in Livingston, Texas. This annual event attracts over 400 students and instructors from more than 64 fire departments across Texas. The curriculum varies yearly, covering topics such as live fire training, vehicle extrication, pump maintenance, pump operations, self-contained breathing apparatus usage, and forcible entry techniques.
