Three Killed in Early Morning Head-On Collision on Grand Parkway in Dayton

Dayton, TX – May 4, 2025 — A devastating head-on collision on the Grand Parkway near Dayton early Sunday morning claimed the lives of three individuals, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. on a stretch of road between FM 1960 and County Road 686. A 2024 GMC Sierra, driven by 19-year-old Ulises Alejandro Guzman of Cleveland, Texas, veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2018 Nissan Altima. All three occupants—the driver of the Sierra and both individuals in the Altima—were pronounced dead at the scene.

The occupants of the Altima have been identified as a 52-year-old man from Honduras and a 48-year-old woman from the Humble area. Authorities are working to locate and notify the next of kin, particularly for the male victim.

According to Guzman’s parents, he had been returning home from a party at the time of the crash. The two occupants of the Altima appeared to have been en route to Dayton.

Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Larry Wilburn conducted an inquest at the scene and ordered autopsies for both drivers. The roadway was closed for approximately three hours during the investigation, which is being led by DPS Trooper Jacques Nguyen, assisted by Sgt. Rob Willoughby.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the collision.
