Liberty County, TX – March 26, 2025 – Law enforcement officers from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and Precinct #2 Constable’s Office successfully apprehended Donald Earl Burns, also known as “Turkey,” on March 25, 2025, following the discovery of an active felony warrant for Deadly Conduct. Burns, who has a documented history of legal issues, was identified as a suspect in an ongoing theft investigation.
A Liberty County Sheriff’s Office investigator confirmed Burns’ identity and uncovered the outstanding warrant through a routine driver’s license check. Given Burns’ prior interactions with law enforcement, assistance from the Precinct #2 Constable’s Office was requested for the arrest.
Upon arrival at Burns’ residence, officers knocked on the door and identified themselves. Burns answered but quickly became irate upon seeing additional law enforcement personnel. He repeatedly claimed he “was not on paper” and questioned the officers’ presence. When informed of the arrest warrant, Burns attempted to retreat inside his home. After ignoring warnings and resisting detention, a constable deputy deployed a Taser to subdue him. Burns was taken into custody and transported to the Liberty County Jail without further incident. He has been booked on additional charges of resisting arrest.
