Inmate is back in custody! URGENT: Escaped Inmate Alert – Possible Danger in Local Area

Authorities are warning residents to be on high alert after an inmate escaped from custody this morning. Scott Evan Shepple, a Grimes County inmate, broke free from the Cypress Creek Mental Facility on Cali Drive (off FM 1960) around 8:30 AM and is believed to be in the area.

Suspect Description:

• Name: Scott Evan Shepple

• Race: White male

• Appearance: Bald, blue eyes, multiple tattoos (including on head and neck)

• Clothing: Gray hospital scrubs and slides

Criminal History & Risk Level:

Shepple has been in custody since December 4, 2024, facing serious charges, including:

• Sexual assault

• Assaulting a police officer

• Resisting arrest

Authorities consider him dangerous due to his violent tendencies and past threats of “suicide by cop.” He also has active warrants in both Grimes County and Brazos County.

• Walker County

The most recent sighting was around 11:00 AM today, when he was spotted walking north on I-45 near Spring Cypress (right shoulder).
