Walker Richardson, 23, has passed away today in the hospital after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the Livingston area yesterday afternoon.


Man Found in Vehicle of Apparent Self Inflicted Gunshot Wound, LIVINGSTON, March 16, 2025 – At approximately 1:10 pm on March 16, 2025, Deputy Perk Ostrawich with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling on Old Woodville Road when he spotted a brown Chevy Tahoe sitting off a side road (Waka Road). Deputy Ostrawich approached the vehicle and found the occupant sitting on the front seat, breathing erratically, in obvious physical distress with a rifle on his lap. Ostrawich radioed to dispatch about the incident. Ostrawich was quickly backed up by other Deputies including Sergeant Dakota Martinez, Keegan Newman, and Trent Jones with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, Trooper Cesar Davila with The Texas Highway Patrol arrived to assist. The victim was suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene. The victim (name not yet released), was transported to a landing zone and flown by Air Life Air Medical to Conroe Regional Hospital.
