POLK COUNTY, TX — After a calm and mild morning, residents can expect increasing cloud cover this afternoon as moisture returns to the region. Temperatures will peak in the upper 70s to near 80°F by mid-afternoon, with light southeasterly winds around 5–10 mph.
By early evening, a few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms may begin to develop, especially after 6 PM, as a weak disturbance moves across East Texas. While severe weather is not expected, some storms could bring brief downpours, gusty winds, and lightning. If you have outdoor plans, it’s wise to keep an eye on the radar.
Overnight, skies will remain mostly cloudy with lows dipping into the low 60s. Patchy fog could form by early morning, particularly in low-lying areas and near the lake.
