Students Arrested After Planning an Attack

The Brief

    • 2 students were arrested for allegedly planning an attack on Memorial High School.
    • Authorities say the students planned to place pipe bombs around the school and shoot students.
    • One student was from WIllis High School and the other was a student in Spring Branch ISD.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Two students are now in custody after authorities identified them as being in the planning stages of a mass casualty attack against Memorial High School. The FBI says it has thwarted a “mass casualty attack” on a school in the Houston area that was being planned by two underage teenagers. The attack was being planned at a Spring Branch ISD school. One of the students is enrolled at Willis ISD and the other at Spring Branch ISD, Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough says. The FBI Houston office says it received the information yesterday and their Threat Mitigation Team immediately responded to help HPD and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office make the arrests.
